My Landscape Photography

These are some landscape photos from over the years that I consider to be good or interesting. Throughout my photography journey, I have focused heavily on landscape and nature photography as it’s what I love the most. The natural world has always inspired me, and I love all the dramatic colours, such as sunsets or forests.

I love sunsets/sunrises because that’s when the sky lights up, and you’re able to see all the colours in one place. Whilst away on holiday, I sat down and took my camera out and took a few shots of the sun setting. I have chosen this particular sunset photo because you can see the islands behind, which I think makes the landscape look lovely.

I took multiple waterfall photos whilst away in Grenada, but this one is something that I am most proud of because you’re able to see the water bouncing off from the rocks, and it captures all the colours whilst still showing the rainforest elements in the background.

This is one of the earliest photos that I took on my brand new camera. I thought it was the best thing ever, and I was incredibly proud of it. To this day, I still am, and it reminds me of how much passion I hold for photography and the many wonders that I am able to capture if I just take moments to look at the world.

This particular photo was hard to capture since there was a metal pole alongside the water, but eventually I just went with it and stopped trying to angle away because I liked the idea that the natural beauty of the landscape works well with man-made items. I also like the boats in the background of this photo.

Whilst doing a college project, I wanted to focus on landscapes that reminded me of Studio Ghibli film stills, such as Princess Mononoke. My idea was to focus on how natural landscapes are important and the struggles with human industrialisation. So I chose locations that seemed calm to reflect on the quieter moments that were in the film. This photo reminds me a lot of how beautiful landscapes can be.
