My experience with animal photography

These photos are from my trips abroad. I have never focused largely on animal photography, which is why I have very little to show. I wanted to include all types of my photography though, to show that I have tried a bit of everything, and have experimented.

Whilst visiting Grenada, I had the opportunity to see the Mona Monkeys at Grand Etang National Park. Even though I had little experience with shooting fast-moving objects, I still tried and I liked how a few of them turned out. I particularly like this photo because it shows you close up what their faces look like.

This was another shot I tried. I wanted to take it further away so the viewer is able to see the background. I like how this one focuses more on the Monkey rather than anything else.

In Greece, there was a herd of Donkeys that took people around the town. The idea was to show all the intricate designs on the donkeys’ saddles, but unfortunately they were quite far away. I still like how the blue is a common theme within Greece.

Out of all my previous animal photography, this Photo of a Mona Monkey is my favourite because of how you can see the sign in the background, which adds context of where it was taken. The colours really shine through and make the monkey even more visible.

During my time at college, we are sent out for projects on the grounds to take photos or make short films. This photo was taken behind the media block. I have included it because I think it looks interesting. Although not as visible as I would have liked, the cat caught a mouse, and I think that would have made a fascinating photo if I had gotten the settings correct.
