Planning/Research

During the planning and research stage, this is where I focus the most on visuals and what inspires me. I first do research and focus on what I want to achieve and find inspiration either from other artists or historical figures, depending on what my project is about. Doing this, I use mood boards and case studies. After doing a few shot lists, mood boards and a separate board for after-editing ideas, I move onto the harder side of planning, which is how I want my subject to pose, the location the photos are being taken and setting up the lighting.

Why planning is important for me

Planning is a vital part of my work; I need to know what I’m doing, and I need a goal to reach when doing a project or FMP. By having a checklist or board, I am able to look back and remember what exactly I’m trying to do. Moodboards are the biggest inspiration for me since I see all the amazing photos, and I want to create something similar but with my own creative twist.
